If you’re not a skilled watercolor artist like us, don’t fret! The new iOS app Waterlogue practically does all the work for you with just a few easy steps. Once you’ve slaved hou–ahem, minutes over these works of art, turn them to photo prints with PostalPix!
You start off by choosing a snapshot from your library which then turns it into a sketch that will be filled in while you watch. You are able to adjust the brush stroke, the color, brightness and which filter you’d like to apply on your photo.
We love that this app takes it beyond a simple filter and turns a simple snapshot into a work of art with what looks like REAL brush strokes. But like all other photo apps, what good is it if you keep it stored on your phone and don’t get to enjoy the real thing? Well we were thrilled when Jen Idleman of Sticky-Design Blog shared with us her review of Waterlogue app photo that she printed out onto our metal print!
I was curious to see how they’d look printed out, so I ordered a print of that cute kitty baby picture above, from PostalPix – printed on aluminum. And it’s completely beautiful! I’ve ordered things from PostalPix before, and they always have great print quality, but I wasn’t expecting it to be this good! I can see that my house will soon be filled with watercolor prints of my photos.
